Sohan's academic research background, primarily in computational social science, includes studies of crowdsourcing, strategic cooperation, incentive mechanisms, social mobilization, AI ethics, and computer-mediated negotiation. He investigates disinformation, polarization, and AI-powered deception, also examining their implications for platform design and policy. He is a practitioner of open-source intelligence (OSINT) towards identifying and mapping covert influence operations and misinformation spread online, and is a Visiting Researcher on the subject with the Max Planck Institute for Human Development. He additionally brings extensive software tech experience from industry.
